Keeping First Nations, Inuit and Metis Families Together

Family & Children Services of the Waterloo Region recognizes we are on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishnabe and Haudenosaunee Peoples. The land in and around Waterloo Region is subject to the Haldimand Tract Treaty, an agreement that covers 10 km on both sides of the Grand River from Lake Erie to the head of the river.

Family & Children Services of the Waterloo Region acknowledges the devastating impact of the Residential School System and the Sixties Scoop.

We are committed to Reconciliation. We are working to heal the relationship between all nations of Indigenous families and our agency.

Family and Children’s Services has created a dedicated team of individuals, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to walk with you through this journey. We will work with community partners to keep your family together. We understand the effects of intergenerational trauma. We will support your family with a respectful and holistic approach.
